Engage with Distributed Manufacturing

45-minute workshop

We will gather feedback on the tools for the mAkE project that enable distributed manufacturing. An experimental development process! Establishing local distributed models that will increase opportunities for makers, makerspaces, startups and entrepreneurs to engage in socially driven business and collaborative capacity by access to three digital infrastructures that enable distributed manufacturing across a network by sharing 1) skills, 2) machinery and 3) contracts.

Technical Innovation for a Distributed Manufacturing Network

15-minute presentation

An overview of the innovations that are beginning to enable distributed manufacturing, as developed by the mAkE project. mAkE is a Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation project, funded by the European Union. The overall objective of mAkE is to strengthen existing networks of makerspaces as key drivers for local digital innovation in Africa and establish mutual and sustainable networks with European Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs), specifically makerspaces. We presented at the VULCA Seminar in 2023.
